The Junior Medical Ambassadors program features elementary and high school students serving as medical advisors for fellow students in areas with high occurrences of obesity and diabetes. The students are called “Junior Doctors” and have completed a course conducted by Kaiser Permanente doctors and a nutritionist. Educational programs will be offered for parents by the Junior Doctors as well. The Junior Medical Ambassadors offer information only and do not go beyond this service. The advantage is that Junior Doctors are available five days per week to give presentations in classrooms and general assemblies.
